Istano Basa with a more famous name Pagaruyung Palace, a palace located in Batusangkar, Tanah Datar West Sumatra. This palace is an object of cultural tourism in West Sumatra.
Istano Basa standing now is actually a replica of the original. Istano native language is located on the Bukit Batu Patah, and it burned down in a bloody riot in the year 1804. Palace were then rebuilt but burned again 1966.
The process of rebuilding Istano Basa done with laying the pillar Tuo (main pillar) on 27 December 1976 by the Governor of West Sumatra (Aaron Zain time). New buildings are not built in the old palace site, but in a new location in the southern. At the end of 1970, this palace can be visited by the public.
